It’s tough finding a place in the world. Especially if you are unsure of the answers to life’s big questions. We want our teens at Gracefields Church to hear and know that the Bible holds the answers to living in this world, and that in Jesus they are valued and loved!
Fridays
Hood
‘Hood’ meets on Friday Nights at the Gracefields Church church building from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
We welcome all teenagers to come and hang out with us as we catch up, play games and think about life and the Bible together.

Cutting Edge
Cutting Edge is a termly youth rally for youth groups from around Cape Town. The venue moves around each term meaning we get to visit churches from all over! This is a fantastic place for us to connect with our friends from other churches and reminisce over Cross Word Camp!
Sundays
Gracefields Church Services
We especially recommend that teens attend our 6pm service because we believe it is the service best suited to their age group, and because there is a benefit to attending the same service as other teens. Many teens also serve in various capacities at all three services.
GAP
To help those in Grade 8 and 9 navigate the transition from Kids Church to our Church Services we run a ministry called GAP.
GAP runs at the 8am & 10am services during the school term. Teens begin in the service and leave at the same time the children leave just before the Bible Reading & Sermon. During GAP, the teens will watch and discuss a talk specifically aimed at their age group and focused on the meaning and importance of church.
Child Protection Policy
We take the safety of our children at Gracefields Chruch very seriously. For this reason we have developed a Child Protection Policy that is compliant with the Child Protection Act 38 of 2005 (as amended) and the REACH-SA Child Protection Policy.

If you believe that this policy is not being complied with in any way, or if you have any concerns, please contact our designated Child Protection Officer: Mariska Pienaar (079 459 6745) who will escalate it to the necessary Authorities.

Tim Gertzen oversees the Teen Ministry at Gracefields Church.
Tim is busy studying theology at George Whitefield College in Muizenberg. Tim loves reading, getting outdoors, and watching Test cricket. Most of all, he loves teaching people about Jesus and seeing them grow to love Jesus more! Tim is married to Caitlyn.
